MagnaFlow Direct-Fit Catalytic Converters

MagnaFlow has been building aftermarket catalytic converters since 1981, and the direct-fit lineup is what most buyers end up on when a check engine light turns into a P0420 code. These are bolt-in replacements — mandrel-bent tubing, stainless steel construction, and flanges matched to the factory exhaust, so there's no cutting, welding, or custom fab required on most vehicles.

Federal/EPA vs. California/CARB: pick the right grade

MagnaFlow builds converters in two emissions grades, and choosing the wrong one will fail inspection or cause fitment and compliance issues.

Federal/EPA converters meet U.S. federal emissions standards and are legal in most states. They are not legal for sale or installation in California, Colorado, New York, or Maine (on newer vehicles). If your vehicle is registered in one of those states, you need the CARB grade.

California/CARB converters are built to California Air Resources Board specifications and carry an Executive Order (EO) number. They're legal in all 50 states and required in CARB-regulated states. They cost more, but they're the safe choice if you're not sure what your state requires.
