Brembo Big Brake Kits for Mitsubishi Evo VIII / IX (2003-2006)

Every Brembo big brake kit we offer for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII and IX is on this page, front and rear. In the US that means the 2003-2005 Evo VIII and the 2006 Evo IX. Up front you can choose a GT 4-piston kit on 355mm discs, GT 6-piston kits on 350mm or 355mm discs, or a PISTA 6-piston race kit. At the rear there are two GT 4-piston kits and a PISTA kit, all on 328mm discs. A Brembo system replaces the caliper and disc on the axle you choose with a matched caliper, disc and pad package, sold as a complete axle set.

Brembo lists these kits for the Evo VI through IX. Many Evo VIII and IX cars left the factory with Brembo calipers. Those are original-equipment parts. These kits are Brembo's aftermarket systems with larger 2-piece discs, new calipers and new pads, for cars that run long track sessions, time attack or rally-cross.

Choosing Your Kit

• Kit: Four front kits are listed first: a GT 4-piston kit on 355x32mm discs, a GT 6-piston kit on 350x34mm discs, a GT 6-piston kit on 355x32mm discs, and a PISTA 6-piston kit on 355x35mm discs. Then come three rear kits: a GT 4-piston kit on 328x28mm discs (C caliper family), a GT 4-piston kit on 328x28mm discs (P caliper family), and a PISTA 4-piston kit on 328x28mm discs. Each kit name gives the axle, the system (GT or PISTA), the piston count and the disc size.
• Finish: front GT 4-piston 355x32mm kit and rear GT 4-piston 328x28mm kit (C caliper): black, red, and silver; front GT 6-piston 350x34mm kit, front GT 6-piston 355x32mm kit, and rear GT 4-piston 328x28mm kit (P caliper): black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S (black hard-anodized), and GT-R (billet-machined and nickel-plated); all PISTA kits: Brembo's standard PISTA finish. A finish that a kit does not offer cannot be selected for it.
• Disc Type: drilled discs suit street driving and give good wet-weather bite; Type 1 Slotted is a street and occasional-track disc; Type 3 Slotted is aimed at regular track days; Type 5 Slotted is a PISTA race disc for long, hot sessions. Offered as follows: Drilled and Type 3 Slotted on the front GT 4-piston 355x32mm kit and front GT 6-piston 355x32mm kit; Type 3 Slotted on the front GT 6-piston 350x34mm kit; Type 3 Slotted and Type 5 Slotted on the front PISTA 6-piston 355x35mm kit; Drilled and Type 1 Slotted on the rear GT 4-piston 328x28mm kit (C caliper) and rear GT 4-piston 328x28mm kit (P caliper); Type 5 Slotted on the rear PISTA 4-piston 328x28mm kit.

GT kits: add the finish code to the base part number for the exact part: 1 black, 2 red, 3 silver, 5 yellow, 7 fluorescent yellow, S GT-S, R GT-R. Replacement and upgrade pads for these calipers are sold separately.

FAQ

My Evo already has Brembo brakes. Is this an upgrade?
Yes. The factory Brembo calipers are OE parts sized for the factory discs. These kits use larger 2-piece discs, new calipers and new pads.

What is the difference between the two GT rear kits?
Both are 4-piston kits on 328x28mm discs. Brembo lists them as two caliper families: the C caliper offers black, red and silver, and the P caliper adds yellow, GT-S and GT-R.

Does the rear PISTA kit keep a parking brake?
Yes. Brembo lists the rear PISTA kit with a parking brake.

Will these kits fit my wheels?
Every big brake kit needs wheel clearance, and the 355mm kits need the most room on the Evo. Send us your wheel size and offset and we will check them against Brembo's clearance data before you order.

Fitment Notes

Brembo lists all kits on this page for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI to IX; in the US, the 2003-2005 Evo VIII and 2006 Evo IX. Brembo GT systems are designed for cars at original ride height. Raising the ride height is not compatible with the brake lines included in these systems. The GT-R 6-piston caliper needs different wheel clearance from the GT 6-piston caliper.
