VRSF B58 Downpipe M240i, 340i, 440i, 540i, 840i | 2016-2027

The VRSF 4.5-inch downpipe replaces the factory downpipe on BMWs with the B58 3.0-liter turbo six from the F-series and early G-series. That covers the M240i, 340i, 340i GT, 440i, 540i, 640i Gran Turismo, 740i and 840i. Choose a catless race pipe or a 200-cell high-flow catted pipe, in brushed stainless or with a heat shield wrap.

What It Does

The B58 has one large twin-scroll turbo, and the factory downpipe right after it holds a dense catalytic converter. Replacing it cuts back pressure, so the turbo spools sooner and holds boost more easily. VRSF measures 25 to 30 hp with a tune, and the exhaust note gets fuller and louder. The catted version keeps a high-flow converter for a more moderate sound.

Materials and Construction

The downpipe is a full 4.5 inches, hand crafted and TIG welded from 304 stainless steel with smooth radius bends. A CNC-machined 304 stainless flange gives a smooth transition from the turbo into the pipe. It bolts to the stock cat-back and to aftermarket systems and fits left- and right-hand-drive cars without modification.

Fitment Notes

• Lifetime warranty on the race downpipe; 1-year warranty on the catted version.

• Will not fit cars with a gasoline particulate filter (OPF/GPF).
• Race downpipes remove the catalytic converters and are sold for off-road and competition use only. A tune is needed to run them without fault codes.
