Overview

The weak link in the E36 driveline is the single main bolt that holds the differential in place. Under hard launches, track use or a supercharger or turbo build it can bend or break, and if it breaks badly the whole differential has to come out to extract it. The Active Autowerke Differential Support Bracket (DSB) fixes that weak point for good.

Active Autowerke lists it for the 1992-1995 325i, 1996-1999 328i and 1995-1999 M3.

What It Does

The DSB adds support around the differential mount so the load is no longer carried by one bolt, which is also easier on the rest of the driveline. Active Autowerke tested it to withstand 500+ hp. It comes as a complete DIY kit, including a new differential bolt, and a qualified technician can fit it in under an hour.

Materials and Construction

Now made from heavy-gauge stainless steel, so it is no longer powder coated, with precision machining and alignment for an accurate fit. Step-by-step instructions are included.
