Active Autowerke F80 M3/F82 M4 EL Connecting Pipes

These are the connecting pipes that join an Active Autowerke F8X mid pipe to the rear section on the BMW F80 M3 and F82 M4. They fit the Active Autowerke equal length mid pipe and the Active Autowerke single F8X mid pipe. Buy them to swap between the straight and resonated sound, or to replace a damaged set.

Choose straight pipes for the most open tone or resonated pipes to cut rasp while keeping most of the volume.

What It Does

The connecting pipes are the last stretch between the mid pipe and the rear exhaust, so they have a big effect on the final sound. The resonated pipes add a resonator on each side to trim the harsh, raspy frequencies the S55 is known for. The straight pipes leave the flow and sound fully open. Changing pipes is a simple way to tune the sound of a car that already has an Active Autowerke mid pipe.

• Active Autowerke lists this part for the F80 M3 sedan and F82 M4 coupe. The F83 M4 Convertible is not on its list, so contact us before ordering for that car.
• These pipes need an Active Autowerke F8X mid pipe; they do not connect to the factory mid pipe.
• For an AWE SwitchPath One rear exhaust, use the AWE connecting pipes (11-076A or 11-076AR) instead.
• Active Autowerke suggests the resonated pipes for cars with aftermarket downpipes, strongly recommends them with catless downpipes, and says owners with the M Performance or CS exhaust should strongly consider them. With stock downpipes there is only a small amount of rasp.
