Active Autowerke F87 M2C Single Mid Pipe Resonated

This is the resonated Active Autowerke single mid pipe for the BMW F87 M2 Competition. It uses the same single-pipe merge as the straight version but adds a resonator on each connecting pipe to take the rasp out of the S55 sound. It is the better choice for a daily car or one with aftermarket downpipes. The Active Autowerke F-brace is included.

The S55 in the M2 Competition sends exhaust from two turbos through a factory mid pipe that keeps the banks apart, and the downpipes are different lengths. The result is the uneven, "dueling three-cylinders" sound many owners dislike, plus a restrictive path for the gases.

What It Does

Merging both banks into one pipe right after the downpipes cancels most of the buzz and frees up flow. The resonators then trim the harsh, high frequencies, so the car sounds deeper and smoother than stock without being as raw as the straight-pipe version.

The kit includes the single mid pipe, two resonated connecting pipes and the Active Autowerke F-brace, which replaces the factory brace. It works with the stock rear muffler or an Active Autowerke rear section.

FAQ

Is it much quieter than the straight version?
It is still clearly louder than stock. The resonators mainly remove raspy tones, not volume.

Can I switch to straight pipes later?
Yes. Active Autowerke sells the M2C connecting pipes separately.

Is the F-brace included?
Yes, and it replaces the factory brace.
