Overview

The Active Autowerke EL bundle for the BMW F87 M2 Competition puts the valved rear axle-back exhaust and the patented Gen 2 equal length mid pipe with straight pipes in one box, priced below the two parts sold separately. It is the straight-pipe, full-volume version of the M2C bundle family.

What It Does

The S55 in the M2 Competition shares the M3/M4 problem of uneven downpipe lengths, so the two banks reach the exhaust out of sync and the car can sound like two three-cylinder engines. The equal length mid pipe matches the path lengths so the pulses arrive in order, giving a fuller inline-six sound. The valved rear section then raises the volume and depth while keeping the factory valve control.

Materials and Construction

Both parts are 304 stainless steel, and the rear section is made in the USA. The rear section is Active Autowerke's F87 valved axle-back. It reuses the BMW valve actuators, so the stock valve control still works, and each one is test-fitted on Active Autowerke's F87 exhaust fixture. The mid pipe includes the Active Autowerke F-brace and hardware. Pick from four tip finishes: brushed stainless, matte black, carbon fiber, or carbon fiber over black.

FAQ

Do I need to cut the stock exhaust?
No. This bundle replaces the mid pipe and rear section together, so the factory system comes out as a unit.

Will this fit a 2016-2018 M2?
No. It is for the S55 M2 Competition. The earlier M2 uses the N55 engine.

Does the tip finish change the price?
Yes. Carbon fiber and carbon over black tips cost more than brushed or matte black. The price updates when you pick a finish.

Shipping & returns

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
