Active Autowerke F87 M2 Competition EL Resonated Bundle

This bundle gives the BMW F87 M2 Competition a deeper, cleaner exhaust note: the Active Autowerke valved rear axle-back plus the Gen 2 equal length mid pipe with resonated connecting pipes. Buying the pair together costs less than ordering them one at a time.

What It Does

Equal length piping brings the S55's two cylinder banks back into step, which is what turns the factory buzz into a proper inline-six sound. The Gen 2 resonators were added to remove rasp while keeping almost all of the volume, and they also cut the 2,000 rpm drone. Active Autowerke recommends the resonated version for cars with aftermarket downpipes, and points out that even stock downpipes leave a little rasp.

Materials and Construction

Both parts are 304 stainless steel. The rear section is Active Autowerke's F87 valved axle-back. It reuses the BMW valve actuators, so the stock valve control still works, and each one is test-fitted on Active Autowerke's F87 exhaust fixture. If you end up with double resonated connecting pipes, the exhaust hangers must be swapped side to side from the factory layout. Active Autowerke includes this note with the rear exhaust. Pick from four tip finishes: brushed stainless, matte black, carbon fiber, or carbon fiber over black.

FAQ

Straight or resonated for my M2C?
Choose resonated if you have aftermarket downpipes, or if you want less rasp. Choose straight for the most volume.

Is the hanger swap hard?
No. It is a side-to-side swap of the factory hangers, needed only with double resonated pipes.

Does the tip finish change the price?
Yes. Carbon fiber and carbon over black tips cost more than brushed or matte black. The price updates when you pick a finish.
