Overview

The Active Autowerke Gen 2 Signature equal length mid pipe for the BMW G80 M3 and G82 M4 is the straight-pipe version of Active Autowerke's patented EL design. It gives the most open, raw sound of the Gen 2 options. The Active Autowerke G-brace is included.

The G80 M3 and G82 M4 are fast, but the factory exhaust is muffled, and many owners feel the car does not sound like an M car.

What It Does

Active Autowerke uses its patented equal length design (US 11248511, UK and EU 3882441) to even out the S58 exhaust pulses before they mix, for a smoother, fuller inline-six sound. It is designed to work with most aftermarket rear exhausts and the Active Autowerke valved axle-back.

Materials and Construction

304 stainless steel with wave-shaped equal length pipes. Active Autowerke notes the install needs cuts in the factory mid pipe; it then joins with factory-style flanges and clamps, and the stock mid pipe can be put back later if needed.

Fitment Notes

  • Active Autowerke lists the G80 M3 sedan and G82 M4 coupe. The G83 M4 Convertible is not on its list, so contact us before ordering for that car.
  • Active Autowerke recommends the resonated version for cars with aftermarket downpipes. It has tested with stock and Active Autowerke downpipes and rear exhausts, and does not guarantee results or fitment with other brands of rear exhaust.

FAQ

Straight or resonated?
Resonated removes rasp with little volume change and suits cars with aftermarket downpipes. Straight is louder and rawer.

Is the G-brace included?
Yes.

Will it work with my rear exhaust?
It is designed for factory-style fittings and most aftermarket rears; Active Autowerke only guarantees results with stock and Active rear exhausts.

Shipping & returns

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
