Overview

The Active Autowerke Gen 3 Signature rear exhaust is one of the best-known period-correct systems for the E36. It fits the US 325i and 328i, including the 325is and 328is, and it is a true bolt-on, so no cutting or welding is needed.

The hexagon-style muffler and dual tips with the embossed Active Autowerke logo give it a distinct look as well as its sound.

What It Does

Large 54 mm twin inlet pipes and smooth mandrel bends flow far more than the stock system, and the gains were dyno-tested by Active Autowerke. The whole system weighs about 34 lb, a useful saving over stock, and on an otherwise stock car it has the sharp, high-revving note the system is known for. Active Autowerke suggests pairing it with its cold air intake for the best gains.

Materials and Construction

New brushed-finish 100% 304 stainless steel with mandrel-bent piping, thicker flanges for a tighter seal and double-walled 76 mm tips. An illustrated instruction manual is included.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
