Overview

The Active Autowerke valved rear axle-back exhaust replaces the factory rear muffler on the BMW F87 M2 Competition. It gives a low, deep sound while keeping the stock valve control, so you can still drive quietly when the valves are shut. Active Autowerke lists it for the M2 Competition and the M2 CS.

Pick your tip finish: brushed stainless, matte black or carbon fiber.

What It Does

The rear section is where most of the factory sound damping happens. Replacing it with a freer-flowing, valved design opens up the S55 when the valves are open and keeps the car civil when they are closed. It works with the stock mid pipe or an Active Autowerke mid pipe.

Materials and Construction

Built from 304 stainless steel, and each rear section is test-fitted on Active Autowerke's in-house F87 exhaust fixture before it ships. Active Autowerke guarantees a precise fit on every F87 M2 Competition and M2 CS. All installation hardware is included.

  • Active Autowerke also lists the 2020 M2 CS for this part. Our vehicle filter does not include the M2 CS yet, so CS owners can order here directly or contact us.

Yes. The rear section uses the stock valve control.

Shipping & returns

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
