Overview

The Active Autowerke valved rear axle-back replaces the factory rear section on the BMW G87 M2. It raises the sound level over the stock exhaust and reuses the factory valve actuators, so you keep valve control while getting a deeper, throatier tone.

The G87 M2 is quick, but the factory exhaust is muffled, and many owners feel it does not sound like an M car.

What It Does

Active Autowerke offers a full G87 system: a valved rear axle-back, a choice of single or equal length mid pipe, and GESI catted downpipes. Active Autowerke points out that the rear section on its own is a more subtle upgrade; the dramatic change comes when the mid pipe is replaced too.

Materials and Construction

Made in the USA from 304 stainless steel. Every rear section is test-fitted on Active Autowerke's in-house G87 exhaust fixture, and Active Autowerke guarantees it fits every G87 M2. All installation hardware is included.

Fitment Notes

Active Autowerke also sells a version for owners keeping the stock mid pipe. Moving to an Active or other mid pipe later means the connecting pipes must be replaced at extra cost.

Do the factory valves still work?
Yes. It reuses the BMW valve actuators.

How much louder is the rear alone?
It is a more subtle change; the big difference comes with a new mid pipe.

Does the tip finish change the price?
Yes. Carbon tips cost more than brushed or black.

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
