Overview

The Active Autowerke valved rear axle-back exhaust replaces the quiet factory rear section on the G42 BMW M240i. Active Autowerke has been building BMW performance parts for more than 40 years, and its view is that sound and driving enjoyment matter as much as peak power. This exhaust gives the B58 coupe a deep, throaty note that suits its M Performance badge, and quad tips give it the look to match.

What It Does

The stock M240i exhaust is muted, even with its valves open. This rear section is tuned for a low, deep sound while keeping good flow. It reuses the actuator from the BMW valve, so the factory valve control still works the way it did from the factory. Every exhaust is test-fitted on Active Autowerke's in-house M240i exhaust fixture before it ships, and Active Autowerke guarantees a precise fit on the G42 M240i.

Materials and Construction

The system is made in the USA from 304 stainless steel. It replaces only the rear section, so the stock mid pipes are cut to fit, and all connecting hardware is in the box. Choose from four tip finishes: brushed stainless, matte black, carbon fiber, or carbon over black chrome.

Active Autowerke lists this exhaust for the G42 M240i and does not split rear-wheel drive from xDrive. In the US, the 2022 M240i was sold as xDrive only.
The stock mid pipes must be cut during installation.

Yes. The exhaust reuses the actuator from the BMW valve, so the stock valve control is kept.

Shipping & returns

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
