Active Autowerke F97 X3M/F98 X4M EL Mid Pipe Gen 2

Active Autowerke built the first equal length mid pipe for the BMW F97 X3 M and F98 X4 M, carrying over its work from the F8X and G8X M cars. It gives the stock exhaust a more aggressive, sweeter high-revving tone.

The X3 M and X4 M are very fast SUVs, but the factory exhaust is muffled, and many owners feel they do not sound like an M car.

What It Does

For Gen 2, Active Autowerke worked with its factories on resonators that remove rasp from the exhaust note with minimal change in volume. A side benefit is less of the "2k buzzing" some owners dislike, and less of the factory cold-start rattle. Active Autowerke offers a full F97/F98 system: a valved rear axle-back, a single or equal length mid pipe, and catted downpipes.

Materials and Construction

100% brushed 304 stainless steel with an industry-standard warranty against rust, designed to work with systems that use factory-style fittings. It installs with a single cut in each side of the stock mid pipe and joins with factory-style flanges and clamps. Most owners can bolt it on, and the stock mid pipe can be refitted later.
