Part S-BM/T/2H is the Akrapovič BMW M5 (F90) Evolution Line Cat Back (Titanium), an Evolution Line exhaust made for the BMW M5 (F90). On the Akrapovič dyno it added 11.1 hp and 15.7 lb-ft, tested on a BMW M5 / M5 Competition (F90).

Benefits

Compared with a rear-only system, the Evolution Line replaces a larger share of the factory exhaust. That gives better gains across the rev range and a sound that is consistent from the front of the system to the tailpipes. Valves in the system keep it calm at a steady cruise and open it up for a much louder, deeper sound when you push on. An optional Akrapovič Sound Kit is offered for this car to add more control over the exhaust sound. Akrapovič has versions and fitment notes for cars with and without a particulate filter, so check the engine and chassis in the table.

Materials and Construction

Titanium is the material Akrapovič is best known for. It is much lighter than steel, handles heat well and resists corrosion, so the system keeps its strength and finish over many heat cycles. Some of the parts are cast in Akrapovič's own titanium foundry. The carbon-fibre parts are finished by hand.

Akrapovič was founded in Slovenia in 1990 by Igor Akrapovič and built its name in motorsport before moving into road-car exhausts. That racing background shows in the attention to weight, flow and build quality.
