Overview

The AMS Performance Alpha Carbon Fiber Performance Intake System (part number ALP.19.08.0004-1) is the complete Alpha intake for the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 and GLA45 with the 2.0L M133 turbo engine. It replaces the corrugated factory duct and the restrictive 2.6" filter inlet with a smooth carbon fiber duct, a carbon airbox lid and a 4" CNC billet aluminum filter adapter.

AMS found the biggest restriction in the stock intake was the 2.6" inlet to the engine. Opening it up to 4" sharply reduces pressure drop, and AMS says that change alone is worth more than 20 hp. You will also hear more turbo spool, and AMS notes reduced turbo lag.

The system keeps a sealed airbox so the turbo breathes cool outside air rather than hot engine bay air. The billet adapter is anodized for long life, the synthetic dry filter cleans with compressed air, and the carbon weave matches the AMG engine cover. No tuning is required and installation takes about 10-15 minutes with no cutting.

FAQ

Do I need a tune?
No. AMS says no tuning is needed.

Will it be louder?
Yes, you will hear more turbo spool. It is not a loud intake when cruising.

How do I clean the filter?
Blow it out from the inside with compressed air, or wash with a mild degreaser and let it dry fully.

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.
