Overview

The AMS Performance Alpha Series Camshafts (part number ALP.07.04.0011-1) are made by Tomei exclusively for AMS for the VR38DETT. They are designed for any GT-R with upgraded turbos, from bolt-on turbos to full turbo kits, and give a wide power band with good street manners and quicker turbo response.

AMS focused on usable power across the rev range rather than only peak numbers, and found a balance of lift and duration that adds 30 to 100 hp depending on turbo choice and boost. These are the cams in the record-setting Alpha 12 and Alpha Omega GT-Rs: Omega ran 8.62 at 173.8 mph in the quarter mile and set a 233 mph standing mile record.

Upgraded valve springs and retainers are required to run these camshafts. AMS specifies cold valve clearance at the cam of 0.30mm intake and 0.33mm exhaust.
