AMS Red Alpha AWD One-Piece Driveshaft | Infiniti Q50 / Q60 3.0t

The AMS Q50 / Q60 Red Alpha AWD Driveshaft, built with The Driveshaft Shop, replaces the factory two-piece shaft on all-wheel-drive Infiniti Q50 and Q60 models with the 3.0L twin-turbo VR30. It helped the AMS shop Q60 Red Alpha set a world-record quarter mile with a 1.48-second 60-foot time.

Choose aluminum, made from 3.5" x 0.125" wall 6061-T6 tube, or carbon fiber at 3.25" diameter. Both are one piece, high-speed balanced and rated past 9,000 rpm and to 3,464 ft-lb of torque. Pulse welding uses less heat for a stronger shaft, and the high-strength spline is rated to 6,800 ft-lb.

A purpose-built German high-speed CV and solid Dana/Spicer U-joints without grease fittings round out the shaft. The aluminum shaft weighs 23.05 lb and the carbon shaft 21.55 lb, compared with 26.85 lb stock. This version is for AWD cars only.

FAQ

Will it be louder than stock?
AMS notes a one-piece shaft makes more noise than the stock two-piece shaft.

Aluminum or carbon?
Both are one-piece. AMS lists the aluminum shaft at 23.05 lb and the carbon shaft at 21.55 lb, vs 26.85 lb stock (AWD).

Any install tips?
AMS recommends a small amount of red Loctite on all hardware and its published torque specs.

Does it fit a RWD car?
No. This is the AWD version. AMS makes a separate RWD driveshaft.

Fitment Notes
