Overview

The AMS Performance Omega Brushless Fuel Pump System replaces the in-tank fuel pumps on the 2009-2024 Nissan GT-R R35 with brushless pumps run by a dedicated controller. It is offered as a single-pump system for builds up to about 1,200 wheel horsepower, a dual-pump system for builds beyond that, and a single-to-dual conversion kit for owners who already run one Omega pump.

The problem it solves is heat. The GT-R fuel tank sits above the hot GR6 transmission and the exhaust, and conventional brushed pumps run at full output all the time, adding even more heat to the fuel. AMS has seen fuel boil in a GT-R tank at around 140 °F, and once fuel boils, pump output falls off, the engine leans out and detonation can follow. Big-power cars that stack two or three brushed pumps make the problem worse.

A brushless motor has no brushes rubbing on a commutator, so it does not wear the same way and makes far less heat. The Omega controller varies pump speed with demand instead of running flat out, which keeps fuel cooler and pressure steadier. AMS spent over two years developing and testing the system using OE-quality motors and automotive-grade controllers.

Features

  • Brushless pump motors with no brush or commutator wear
  • Controller adjusts pump output to demand, keeping fuel cooler
  • Single pump supports up to about 1,200 whp; dual pump for more
  • Reduces fuel heat that can cause boiling and lean conditions
  • Quieter and simpler than stacked brushed-pump setups
  • Conversion kit adds a second pump to an existing single Omega system

What Is Included

  • Single: one Omega brushless pump assembly with controller and wiring
  • Dual: two Omega brushless pumps with controller and wiring
  • Conversion kit: parts to add a second pump to a single-pump Omega system

FAQ

Single or dual pump?
AMS rates the single-pump system for builds up to about 1,200 wheel horsepower. Choose the dual-pump system above that level.

Can I upgrade later?
Yes. The single-to-dual conversion kit adds a second pump to an existing single Omega system.

Why brushless?
Brushless motors avoid brush wear and generate far less heat, and the controller only runs the pump as hard as the engine needs.
