Overview

The AMS Evo X Clutch Master Cylinder Upgrade Kit (part number AMS.04.03.0002-1) replaces the plastic factory clutch master cylinder on the 2008-2015 Lancer Evolution X. That plastic part is known to split when an aftermarket clutch is installed, because the higher clamping force puts more strain on the hydraulic system. When it fails, the pedal stays on the floor and you are stuck.

AMS solves it by adapting the steel OEM master cylinder from the Evo VIII/IX, which is included. AMS engineers used AutoCAD and a CMM arm to measure the factory cylinder and firewall, then machined a counter-bored, gold anodized adapter plate that fits snugly against the firewall, with a foam ring to keep out moisture and dirt.

A nylon-coated, stainless braided hydraulic line resists abrasion, and a steel ball-cup link adds durability. All hardware and detailed instructions are included so the install is straightforward, and AMS designed the kit to be the last clutch master cylinder your Evo X needs.

FAQ

Does it fit the Evo X MR?
No. The MR uses the SST dual-clutch transmission and has no clutch pedal. This kit is for the manual GSR.

Do I need it with a stock clutch?
It is most important with an aftermarket clutch, but it also removes a known weak point.

Do I need to bleed the clutch?
Yes. Bleed the clutch hydraulics after installation.

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
