AMS Carbon Fiber Intake System | 2015-2019 Volkswagen Golf R Mk7

The AMS Performance VW Golf R Mk7 Carbon Fiber Intake System (part number AMS.21.08.0001-1) replaces the bulky factory airbox with carbon fiber tubing, a carbon air box and a dry media filter. It draws 100% cold air from outside the car into the stock turbo, and AMS rates it for power levels up to 600 horsepower.

AMS chose a hand-laid, motorsports-grade prepreg carbon: three layers of 1mm twill weave that hold their shape and look up to 240 °C. Unlike clear-coated gloss carbon, it will not yellow, fade or crack over time. The box spreads incoming air evenly across the filter for consistent flow.

The dry filter needs no oil and is easy to clean. The kit cleans up the engine bay and gives a more pronounced turbo sound under boost.
