AMS Alpha 102mm Titanium Exhaust | 2009-2024 Nissan GT-R R35

The AMS Performance Alpha 102mm Titanium Exhaust (ALP.07.05.0007-1) for the 2009-2024 Nissan GT-R R35 combines the mid pipe (Y-pipe) and the rear section into one system. That lets AMS run a 102mm main pipe where most systems use 90mm, a 28 percent increase in cross-sectional area that cuts turbulence and back pressure and improves turbo response. AMS reports gains of as much as 100 hp on high-horsepower GT-Rs moving from a restrictive 90mm system to a 102mm one.

Everything is titanium: the piping, mufflers, tips and even the flanges. The assembled system weighs about 30 lb, less than half of the 63 lb factory exhaust and well under the 57 lb, partly titanium Nismo exhaust. Twin 11.75 in mufflers, chosen after testing several designs, take out the shrill high-pitched resonance of a straight pipe while keeping the flow.

AMS kept every one of the five factory mounting points, where many aftermarket systems use only three, to spread the load and protect the hangers. The mid pipe uses hybrid titanium and stainless flex sections to absorb engine movement, and V-band clamps join the system for trouble-free assembly.

Installation

The Alpha 102mm is a direct bolt-in that uses V-band clamps and the five factory mounting points, and AMS includes all the hardware needed. AMS recommends wearing gloves when handling the titanium to avoid permanent marks.

FAQ

Does it include the mid pipe?
Yes. The system includes the titanium 102mm mid pipe (Y-pipe) with dual flex sections as well as the rear exhaust with mufflers and tips.

Does it fit every R35 year?
AMS lists it for every R35: 2009-2011 CBA, 2012-2016 DBA, 2017-2019 facelift and 2020-on. In the US that covers model years 2009-2024.

Why is the pipe turning blue and gold?
That is normal heat colouring on titanium after engine heat cycles, and some of the gallery photos show it.
