Overview

The APR Performance CF-700005 hood vent addresses critical heat management challenges in the Chevrolet Corvette C7 and C7 Z06 through engineered aerodynamic venting. Designed specifically for 2014-2019 model years, this direct OEM replacement component channels excessive heat that accumulates in the engine bay, protecting vital systems including the engine, radiator, brakes, transmission, and differential from thermal damage that can result in expensive repairs.

The hood vent utilizes pre-pregnated carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite materials manufactured through autoclave molding processes at high temperatures. This construction method delivers superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to conventional materials, reducing vehicle weight while maintaining structural integrity. The pre-preg manufacturing process ensures consistent fiber orientation and resin distribution throughout the component, maximizing both durability and performance characteristics.

Each hood vent features a UV-resistant clear-coat finish engineered to withstand environmental exposure and maintain appearance integrity over time. This protective coating requires maintenance similar to automotive paint finishes, including regular polishing and application of quality wax or synthetic protectant. The carbon fiber weave pattern provides both functional airflow optimization and distinctive aesthetic enhancement that complements the Corvette's performance-oriented design language.

The direct OEM replacement design ensures precise fitment without modification to existing mounting points or hood structure. The engineered vent geometry optimizes heat extraction from the engine bay while maintaining aerodynamic efficiency at speed. This functional approach combines thermal management benefits with weight reduction, making it ideal for track-focused C7 owners seeking both performance and reliability improvements.
