The 5.3-liter V8 is the engine most fourth-generation Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 owners actually live with, and the AWE 0FG Exhaust gives it the deep, rumbling voice it was always missing. It is a 3-inch cat-back that brings out a fuller V8 tone at start-up and under load, while staying civil enough for daily commutes, long tows and road trips.

The 0FG features AWE's patented drone-cancelling solution, 180 Technology, which removes the frequencies that cause cabin drone at highway speed. What sets this system apart is that there is a tip layout for every bumper. Trucks with factory rear bumper cutouts can choose quad 4-inch double-walled, slash-cut tips or keep the factory tip bezels, and the quad outlets use ball-and-socket joints so they line up perfectly with the cutouts. Flat-bumper trucks can choose dual 5-inch straight-cut tips at the rear or a dual side exit with 4.5-inch tips ahead of the rear tire.

AWE builds the system from U.S.-sourced .065-inch wall T304L stainless steel in a clean straight-through design that connects right after the factory emissions equipment. No. This listing is for 5.3L trucks; AWE builds a separate 0FG system for the 6.2L.

Will it drone on the highway?

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.
