AWE Performance Mid Pipe for 2014-2016 BMW M235i Coupe (F22)

The BMW F22 M235i is one of the most balanced cars BMW built in the last decade, and its turbocharged inline-six has a voice worth hearing. The factory exhaust, though, routes it through a resonated center section that smothers much of that character. The AWE Performance Mid Pipe for the 2014-2016 M235i replaces that resonated section with a non-resonated, straight-through 3-inch pipe.

Removing the resonator brings out more of the six-cylinder's sharp, rising tone and gives the exhaust a freer path. AWE designed the mid pipe as part of its Exhaust Suite for the F22, pairing it with the AWE Touring Edition axle-back, which uses AWE's 180 Technology to cancel drone at highway speeds. AWE quotes maximum gains of 8 hp and 15 lb-ft at the crank for the M235i with its Exhaust Suite.

The mid pipe can be paired with the AWE Touring Edition axle-back; installing it alone with the factory rear section requires cutting the stock exhaust. The mid pipe does not fit convertible models.

It is handcrafted in-house at AWE from U.S.-sourced CNC mandrel-bent .065-inch wall T304L stainless steel in a clean, non-baffled, straight-through design, and it needs no tune. AWE backs it with its Perfect Fitment guarantee, No Check Engine Light guarantee and lifetime exhaust warranty.

Does it fit the convertible?
No. AWE states this mid pipe does not fit convertible models.

Do I need the AWE axle-back?
It is designed to pair with the AWE Touring Edition axle-back; with the factory rear section the stock exhaust must be cut.

Will it drone?

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.
