The AWE SwitchPath Exhaust for the 2012-2016 Porsche 991.1 Carrera S, 4S is AWE's answer for owners who want more power and a stronger flat-six voice without giving up daily drivability. It is built for 3.8-liter Carrera S and Carrera 4S models without the Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE). For a PSE-equipped car, choose the PSE version. This version includes four AWE chrome silver tips that replace the factory tips.

The system replaces the factory center muffler with AWE-engineered straight pipe sections, and adds integrated valves that work with your Porsche's ECU. The car still sends its normal valve commands based on throttle input. With the valves open, exhaust gas bypasses the side mufflers for a Track Edition sound close to a Cup car. With the valves closed, gas runs through the factory side mufflers for a refined, signature AWE Touring tone just above stock volume. Gentle driving gets a tame sound, and aggressive driving gets an aggressive one.

AWE developed the system on a PDK car first, so it is PDK friendly, and it works with manual cars too. In normal (non-Sport) mode it is drone-free. AWE measured midrange gains of up to 20 hp and 25 lb-ft at the crank and a weight saving of 7.5 lbs over the stock exhaust. It is handcrafted in-house by AWE from CNC mandrel-bent T304 stainless steel, bolts on with no tune, and does not alter any emissions devices. Porsche Sport Exhaust cars have an exhaust button on the center console. If you are not sure, call us with your VIN before ordering.

Will it drone on the highway?
AWE designed it to be drone-free in normal, non-Sport mode.

Does it fit the 991.2 (2017-2019) Carrera?
No. This system is for the 2012-2016 991.1 cars listed here.

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.
