The MK7.5 Volkswagen Golf R is a hot hatch you can live with every day, and the AWE SwitchPath Exhaust for the 2018-2019 Golf R keeps it that way while giving the turbocharged 2.0-liter four a real voice. The system is valved and works with the factory ECU, so the valve still responds to throttle input, engine speed and your Drive Select mode. Cruise quietly in Comfort, then open it up in Race for a sharper, more aggressive AWE tone.

AWE designs, engineers and manufactures the system in-house, handcrafted from CNC mandrel-bent 3-inch and 2.5-inch U.S.-sourced .065-inch wall T304L stainless steel. The clean, straight-through layout is a direct bolt-on for factory-like simplicity, and this version finishes with four 102mm double-walled, slash-cut tips in diamond black. AWE quotes maximum gains of 12 hp and 9 lb-ft at the wheels for its full turbo-back setup on stock software.

Does it fit the Mk7 (2015-2017) Golf R?
No. AWE makes a separate SwitchPath system for the Mk7. Please call to confirm fitment before ordering.

Is the remote included?
No. The AWE SwitchPath Remote is sold separately; without it, the valve follows your factory drive modes.

Do I need a tune?
No. It is a direct bolt-on that works on stock software.

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.
