Overview

Five-cylinder fury with two attitudes. The AWE SwitchPath™ Exhaust for the 8V Audi RS3 pairs a 5-cylinder-specific tuned, single-pass driver's side muffler with a valved passenger side outlet. SwitchPath™ keeps the factory valve behavior, obeying the ECU's commands based on throttle input, engine speed, Audi drive select and the factory exhaust button in the cabin. Sneaking out in the morning or creeping through town? Close the valve. Click into Dynamic mode and the RS3 sings a signature AWE tone.

AWE handcrafts the system from CNC mandrel-bent 3-inch and 2.5-inch U.S.-sourced .065-inch wall T304L stainless steel with smooth bends, tight packaging and a clean, straight-through design. AWE measured max gains of 30 hp and 25 lb-ft of torque at the wheels at 6,400 rpm, and the SwitchPath™ system is 28.5 lbs lighter than stock. Diamond Black RS-style tips come standard.

It is a direct bolt-on for factory-like simplicity, designed, engineered and manufactured in-house at AWE. Want it louder later? AWE's SwitchPath-to-Track Conversion Kit turns it into the Track Edition. It carries AWE's Perfect Fitment Guarantee, No Check Engine Light Guarantee and lifetime warranty, with one year on the tip finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the exhaust button still work?
Yes. SwitchPath keeps the factory valve behavior, including the exhaust button and drive select modes.

How is it different from Track Edition?
Track Edition removes the muffler and valve for constant valve-open sound and is sold as a separate listing.

Does it fit the 2022+ RS3?
No. The 8Y RS3 uses a different AWE system.

Not for the 2022+ 8Y RS3, the S3 or the TT RS, which use separate AWE systems.

Shipping & returns

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
