AWE SwitchPath Exhaust for 2015-2020 BMW F8X M3 and M4

The S55 twin-turbo inline-six in the F80 M3 and F82 M4 is a ferocious engine, but the factory exhaust does it few favors. AWE's second-generation SwitchPath Exhaust makes the S55 sound great again, with a clean, rich tone and the flexibility of a valved system.

The Gen2 design uses the factory valving and keeps the M-Sport button working, so you can switch between a quieter cruise and full volume as you always have. A precision-engineered X-pipe cleans up the S55 tone, and the 3-inch CNC mandrel-bent cat-back is a unified design for both OPF-equipped and non-OPF cars. AWE dyno testing showed maximum gains of 12 hp and 16 lb-ft at the wheels.

AWE handcrafts the system from U.S.-sourced .065-inch wall T304L stainless steel and finishes it with quad 4-inch double-walled, slash-cut tips in Chrome Silver or Diamond Black. It is engineered, designed and manufactured in-house at AWE and backed by the No Check Engine Light and Perfect Fitment guarantees plus the AWE Lifetime Exhaust Warranty. The Track Edition is listed separately for drivers who want it louder all the time.

Yes. SwitchPath uses the factory valving and keeps the button function.

Does it fit the M4 CS?
Our sources list the 2019-2020 M4 CS. The M4 GTS is listed by some sources; please call to confirm for that car.

Is a remote needed?
No. The valves are controlled by the factory system.

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.
