Overview

The B58 inline-six in the F30 340i and F32/F36 440i is one of BMW's best modern engines, smooth and strong across the rev range, but the factory muffler mutes most of its character. AWE's Touring Edition Exhaust for the F3X 340i and 440i lets that turbo six sing with a deeper, more aggressive tone when you push it, while staying refined when you are just driving.

It is built around AWE's proprietary 180 Technology, a straight-through drone-cancelling design that removes the cabin boom you would normally get from a free-flowing axle-back at highway speed. With no baffles in the flow path, AWE quotes maximum gains of up to 9 hp and 11 lb-ft at the crank, and the system can be paired with AWE's Non-Resonated Performance Mid Pipe, sold separately, for more volume.

The axle-back is handcrafted from U.S.-sourced, CNC mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel as a full 3-inch system. It finishes in your choice of 3.5-inch (90mm) or 4-inch (102mm) double-walled tips in Chrome Silver or Diamond Black, all selectable on this listing. It bolts to the factory mounting points with no cutting, and it comes with AWE's No Check Engine Light and Perfect Fitment guarantees and the AWE lifetime exhaust warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it fit the N55 335i or 435i?
No. AWE makes a separate Touring Edition axle-back for the N55 cars.

Can I add the mid pipe later?
Yes. The axle-back works alone or with the AWE Performance Mid Pipe, sold separately.

Does it need a tune?
No. It is a bolt-on axle-back and works with the factory calibration.

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
