The AWE Touring Edition Exhaust adds a full-bodied rumble that suits the car's character, and it is the first AWE system for a Golf R to use patented drone-cancelling 180 Technology, so the cabin stays quiet when you are simply commuting.

AWE found the factory drive-mode button already gave the change in character they wanted between modes, so this system drops the valves altogether. That saves weight, simplifies installation and keeps the sound consistent and predictable. The 180 Technology resonators are straight-through and their internals do not degrade over time, so the tone you hear on day one is the tone you keep. AWE reports dyno-verified gains of 4 whp and 1 lb-ft.

The cat-back is handcrafted from CNC mandrel-bent 3-inch and 2.5-inch U.S.-sourced .065-inch wall T304L stainless steel. A slip-fit inlet adapter mates to the factory downpipe while leaving an open 3-inch connection, and the quad 4.5-inch double-walled slash-cut tips, in Chrome Silver or Diamond Black, are individually adjustable to sit just right in the bumper.
