AWE Track Edition Exhaust for 2015-2017 VW Golf 1.8T MK7

The MK7 Golf 1.8T is light on its feet and happy to rev, yet the factory exhaust keeps it sounding like a commuter car. The AWE Track Edition Exhaust gives it the voice it deserves: a pronounced, aggressive mid-range, a sharper response to the throttle and visible dual tips in place of the hidden factory outlet.

Track Edition is the louder of AWE's two systems for this car. Where the Touring Edition uses resonators to keep things calm, the Track Edition swaps the forward resonator for a straight pipe section, so the exhaust flows freely and the turbo four sounds eager without becoming boomy inside the cabin. AWE measured gains of up to 7 hp and 7 lb-ft of torque at the crank.

The system is handcrafted in-house by AWE from 2.5-inch U.S.-sourced, CNC mandrel-bent T304 stainless steel. It finishes in two 90mm double-walled, slash-cut tips with the AWE logo, available in Chrome Silver or Diamond Black, and each tip adjusts in or out to sit just right in the bumper. Installation uses the factory hangers, and AWE backs the system with its No Check Engine Light guarantee, Perfect Fitment guarantee and lifetime exhaust warranty.

How is Track different from Touring?
Track Edition replaces the forward resonator with a straight pipe for a louder, more aggressive mid-range. Touring Edition keeps AWE 180 Technology resonators for a calmer, drone-free tone.

Can the tips be adjusted?
Yes. Each 90mm tip can be set in or out of the bumper to suit your taste.

Does it fit the GTI, Golf R or SportWagen?
No. Those cars use different AWE exhaust systems. This one is for the 1.8T Golf hatchback.

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.
