Overview

The MK7 Golf SportWagen hauls gear, dogs and road-trip luggage with ease, but there is no rule that a practical wagon has to sound dull. The AWE Track Edition Exhaust gives the 1.8T a bold, raspy character and two visible tips that make the rear of the wagon look as sporty as it now sounds.

Track Edition is the more unleashed of AWE's SportWagen systems. It replaces the forward resonator with a straight pipe section, which brings out a more pronounced, aggressive tone in the mid-range while keeping the cabin free of boom at cruise. The free-flowing layout lets the turbo four breathe, and AWE measured gains of up to 7 hp and 7 lb-ft of torque at the crank.

AWE builds every system in-house from 2.5-inch U.S.-sourced, CNC mandrel-bent T304 stainless steel with a .065-inch wall. Two 90mm double-walled, slash-cut tips carry the AWE logo in Chrome Silver or Diamond Black, and each tip adjusts in or out so it sits flush with the bumper. It installs on the factory hangers with no cutting, and it comes with AWE's No Check Engine Light guarantee, Perfect Fitment guarantee and lifetime exhaust warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Track different from Touring?
Track Edition replaces the forward resonator with a straight pipe for a louder, more aggressive mid-range. Touring Edition keeps AWE 180 Technology resonators for a calmer, drone-free tone.

Can the tips be adjusted?
Yes. Each 90mm tip can be set in or out of the bumper to suit your taste.

Does it fit the SportWagen 4MOTION or Alltrack?
No. This system is for front-wheel-drive SportWagen 1.8T models. AWE makes a separate system for 4MOTION and Alltrack.

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.

Fitment Notes

  • Fits U.S.-market 2015-2017 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen 1.8T, front-wheel drive: S, SE and SEL.
  • Not for SportWagen 4MOTION, Golf Alltrack or the Golf hatchback. Please call to confirm fitment on 2018 and later models.
  • Bolts in using the factory hangers, per AWE, with no cutting. No tune required.
  • AWE does not accept returns of the Track Edition for sound preference, so please be sure of the sound level you want before ordering.

Shipping & returns

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
