Overview

The Jeep Wrangler JL is happy on a fire road, a rock garden or a long interstate run, and the AWE Tread Edition Exhaust is tuned for the drive in between. This axle-back replaces the factory muffler section behind the rear axle and gives the Wrangler a richer, more purposeful voice at start-up and under throttle, without the drone that makes many aftermarket systems tiring on a road trip.

Tread Edition is AWE's road-trip-friendly configuration. It uses AWE's patented 180 Technology, a drone-cancelling design that keeps cabin volume close to stock at cruise while still letting the engine speak up when you open it up. The system exits through dual 4.5-inch slash-cut, double-walled tips, one on each side of the rear bumper, finished in either Chrome Silver or Diamond Black. The tip outlets are adjustable, so the system can be lined up with many aftermarket rear bumpers as well as the factory bumper.

AWE uses the same Tread Edition axle-back part numbers for the 3.6L Pentastar V6, the 2.0L turbo four including eTorque models, and the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid, and it fits both the 2-door JL and the 4-door JLU. It is handcrafted from U.S.-made CNC mandrel-bent .065-inch wall T304L stainless steel in a clean straight-through layout and installs as a direct bolt-on to the factory hangers with no cutting. AWE engineers and builds it in-house in the USA and backs it with its Perfect Fitment guarantee, No Check Engine Light guarantee and lifetime exhaust warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it fit the Wrangler 4xe?
Yes. AWE lists the Tread Edition axle-back for the 4xe. AWE mid pipes are not offered for the 4xe.

Will it work with an aftermarket rear bumper?
The tip outlets are adjustable to clear many aftermarket bumpers. Call us with your bumper brand to confirm.

Will it drone on the highway?
AWE 180 Technology is designed to keep cruise volume close to stock.

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.

Fits U.S.-market 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL 2-door and JLU 4-door with the 3.6L V6, 2018-2024 models with the 2.0L turbo including eTorque, and 2021-2025 Wrangler 4xe.
For 2025+ 2.0L turbo models, 2026 4xe models and 3.0L EcoDiesel Wranglers, please call to confirm fitment before ordering.
Does not fit the Wrangler 392, the older JK Wrangler or the Gladiator; AWE builds separate systems for those.
Direct bolt-on to the factory hangers with no cutting, per AWE. No tune required.

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
