M-Engineering M-Coder for Porsche 992.1 and 982 4.0 2020-2025

M-Coder is M-Engineering's features-only flashing tool for the 9X2 platform. It loads a Stage 0 map, which adds no power, carrying whichever custom features you want, such as the PSE exhaust valve modification that gives a true on or off function without a standalone valve controller. M-Engineering calls the PSE modification its most popular feature: it adds sound and power without any hard-part modification.

Installation is at-home OBD flashing with the wireless M-Coder v3 dongle and a Windows PC; no ECU removal is necessary and you do not mail in the ECU. Macs running Boot Camp or similar also work. A battery charger is highly recommended while flashing, and you should not flash if the battery is low or the dash shows battery power errors.

Any combination of the features below can be included or left out at no additional cost. Because the ECU image is flashed, the car will appear as tuned to a dealership even though M-Coder changes features only. Your uninstall file returns the car to stock and verifies and applies your original CALID and CVN, after which you can visit the dealer without worry.

Is M-Coder a bench flash or an OBD flash?
OBD. M-Coder flashes the ECU at home through the OBD-II port with the wireless M-Coder v3 dongle. For the Porsche 9X2 you do not mail in the ECU.

Does M-Coder add horsepower?
No. M-Coder flashes a Stage 0 map with no power added; it exists to switch on the custom features you choose. Power comes from M-Engineering's M-Tuner calibrations.

Will a dealer see that the car was flashed?
Yes, while M-Coder is installed. The ECU image is flashed, so the car appears as tuned. Return to stock with the uninstall file, which applies your original CALID and CVN, before a dealer visit.
