M-Engineering M-Tuner Tune for Porsche 718 Boxster / Cayman 4-Cylinder 2017-2025

M-Tuner is M-Engineering's at-home calibration suite for the turbocharged 4-cylinder 718, compatible with the Base, T, S and GTS in both Cayman and Boxster form. The wireless M-Tuner v3 dongle plugs into the OBD port and a Windows laptop does the flashing, so the ECU never leaves the car.

Off-the-shelf maps cover 91, 93 and 100 octane, and On-The-Fly Live Map Switching lets you change between them while driving. Detonation Defense moves the car into map slot 5 within 20 milliseconds when knock events pass a set threshold, holding it there for about 10 seconds. On manual cars, an added engine safety detects excessive clutch slip. Auto Start/Stop is disabled on all off-the-shelf maps.

Stage 1 is designed for stock headers, stock exhaust, stock or drop-in air filters and the stock fuel system; Stage 2 adds an aftermarket exhaust, with stock or aftermarket headers. On both stages, final torque output is limited by the factory fuel pump, and M-Engineering offers Stage 1+ and Stage 2+ maps for cars with an upgraded high-pressure fuel pump. Stage 3 cars with upgraded intercoolers use the Stage 2 calibrations, and upgraded turbos require ProTuning.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a bench flash or an OBD flash?
OBD. The 718 ECU is flashed at home through the OBD-II port with the wireless M-Tuner v3 dongle; no ECU removal is necessary.

How much power will I gain?
M-Engineering publishes wheel dyno charts from its Mainline ProHub dyno in South Florida rather than a single figure. Gains depend on the model, stage and octane, and torque is limited by the factory fuel pump unless it is upgraded.

Can I go back to stock?
Yes. Flash back to stock whenever you like; the uninstall file restores your original CALID and CVN.
