M-Engineering M-Tuner Tune for Porsche 992.1 911 Carrera 2020-2024

M-Tuner turns the 3.0-liter twin-turbo 992.1 Carrera family into a car you can tune from your driveway. The wireless M-Tuner v3 dongle plugs into the OBD port, a Windows laptop runs the software, and the ECU never leaves the car. One suite covers the Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera T, Carrera S and 4S, GTS and 4 GTS, the Targa 4, 4S and 4 GTS, and the Dakar; choose your model in the selector.

M-Engineering supplies off-the-shelf Stage 1 and Stage 2 maps for 91, 93 and 100 octane, with "GTS Style" maps offered for the Carrera S. The raised rev limiter is standard on those maps, and custom features such as the PSE exhaust valve modification or Auto Start/Stop elimination are added free on request. When you need the car stock again, the supplied uninstall file puts the original software back.

Required and recommended parts

• New factory spark plugs gapped to .022 are recommended, and are required if you run E85.
• Sticky tires at lower pressures help put the power down.
• Resolve any injector TSB issues before tuning.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a bench flash or an OBD flash?
OBD. The ECU stays in the car and is flashed through the OBD-II port with the wireless dongle. Only the optional PDK2 transmission tune needs a part mailed in: the PDK2 module is removed and sent to M-Engineering.

How much power will I gain?
M-Engineering does not quote a single figure for the 992.1 Carrera family. It publishes wheel-horsepower dyno charts per model, stage and octane in its calibration notes, so gains depend on your model, the stage and the fuel you run.

Can the dealer tell, and can I go back to stock?
You can flash back to stock with the supplied uninstall file, which restores the original CALID and CVN; M-Engineering says dealer visits are then fine. If a dealer overwrites the tune, re-unlocking costs 50% of the purchase price.
