M-Engineering M840T Stage 3 Power Package for McLaren 720S 2018-2023

The M-Engineering Stage 3 Power Package is the big-turbo step for the McLaren M840T family: the 720S, 765LT, Senna and GT. It combines M-Engineering's M-Tuner calibration software, the M840T Motorsport Tuning Package, a pair of upgraded turbochargers, and higher-flow fuel injectors with a dedicated harness.

M-Engineering states this kit has made well in excess of 1100 wheel horsepower on the 720S, 765LT and Senna running race fuel. For engines that remain stock internally, M-Engineering recommends limiting output to 1050whp. With live map switching you can move between a pump gas map and a race fuel map from the cruise control stalk, right at the pump.

Required and recommended parts

• Downpipes are not included. M-Engineering lists aftermarket downpipes of 3 in or larger as required for its Stage 3 calibration and highly recommends them with this kit.
• Custom tuning is recommended to unlock the full potential of the package.
• 720S owners: as the car ages and the factory fuel pump filter collects debris, the pump and filters may need replacing, or the car may need a twin-pump upgrade. M-Engineering heavily recommends brushless pumps over brushed ones.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a bench flash or an OBD flash?
Both, in sequence. The first step is a one-time bench unlock: you remove the ECU and mail it to M-Engineering, who unlock it and add their feature set without opening the ECU case. Typical turnaround is 24 hours after it arrives. Once the ECU is back in the car, every later flash and map change is done at home over the OBD-II port with the wireless M-Tuner dongle and a Windows 10 or 11 PC.

How much power does Stage 3 make?
M-Engineering reports well over 1100 wheel horsepower on the 720S, 765LT and Senna on race fuel. On engines with stock internals, they recommend capping output at 1050whp. They have not published a torque figure or a pump-gas figure for this kit.

Does the McLaren GT get the same turbos?
No. The GT uses PT900 turbochargers instead of the PT1200 because its exhaust manifold design is different.
