Overview

M-Flash is M-Engineering's calibration for the 992.2-generation 911 Carrera GTS T-Hybrid, including custom code written for the T-Hybrid system. Because the 992.2 ECU has extensive security protocols that are labor intensive to get around, the ECU is mailed to M-Engineering's Pompano Beach, Florida facility to be unlocked and flashed. Expected turnaround is 24 hours, and the ECU comes back with the tune installed and Live Map Switching active.

Maps come in Stage 1 for a stock car or Stage 2 for a car with an upgraded exhaust. On-The-Fly Live Map Switching is standard on both: slot 1 is ACN91 (Arizona, California and Nevada 91), slot 2 is 91 octane or 95 RON, slot 3 is 93 octane or 98 RON, slot 4 is 100 octane, and slot 5 is the Detonation Defense engine safety map. M-Engineering publishes wheel dyno charts from its Mainline ProHub dynamometer rather than a single headline number.

An M-Tuner v3 wireless dongle is included for clearing faults and datalogging. Port flashing over OBD is not available yet on the 992.2, E85 maps are not offered yet, and PDK tuning is listed by M-Engineering as coming soon with no date.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a bench flash or an OBD flash?
Bench. The 992.2 ECU is mailed to M-Engineering in Pompano Beach, Florida, unlocked and flashed, and returned with the tune installed, usually within 24 hours. M-Engineering says port flashing is not available yet and is being worked on for a future release.

How much power will I gain?
M-Engineering does not state a single figure. It publishes wheel dyno charts from its Mainline ProHub dynamometer for each fuel, so the gain depends on the stage and the octane you run.

Does it void the warranty, and can it go back to stock?
M-Engineering answers yes, it voids the warranty. The ECU can be flashed back to stock by mailing it back to M-Engineering. If a dealer overwrites the tune, the ECU must be unlocked again at 50% of the original price.
