PURE Turbos Stage 1 Turbo Upgrade 2008-2019 BMW N63 550i 650i 750i

The 4.4L N63 and N63TU V8 in the 550i, 650i, 750i and the X5 and X6 xDrive50i makes big gains on a tune, and the factory twin turbos are the limit. PURE Stage 1 rebuilds both turbos around larger, more efficient wheels while keeping the BMW housings, so they go back in the factory location. PURE rates it at more than 650 wheel horsepower with fuel and supporting mods. Price is for the pair.

What PURE changes inside

PURE fits a billet compressor wheel and a high-flow turbine wheel sized for the N63 V8, then upgrades the center housing rotating assembly (CHRA) to handle the higher shaft speed and boost. Every unit is balanced on a VSR high-speed balancer before it ships. The factory compressor and turbine housings are kept, so the turbos mount in the factory location and work with the factory plumbing and heat shielding, with no cutting or fabrication.

How the core charge works

PURE builds this upgrade from a factory turbocharger core, so you choose how to supply one when you order:

• Send in your turbos first (no deposit): you ship your factory turbos to PURE, they are rebuilt to this spec and shipped back. You pay only the upgrade price.
• Pay a refundable core deposit: PURE ships a finished upgrade from stock right away. The deposit shown in the option name is added to the price, and it is refunded in full when PURE receives your old turbos in rebuildable condition within 60 days of delivery.

Before you ship a core, remove the oil lines, coolant lines, actuators and inlets. Cores that arrive damaged or incomplete may not get the full refund, so call us before you send one if you are unsure.

If you pay a core deposit, choose Non-TU for a 2008-2012 engine or TU for a 2013-2019 engine.

Warranty and tuning

PURE backs its turbo upgrades with a limited 1-year, unlimited-mile warranty. A custom ECU tune is not strictly required: this turbo can run on off-the-shelf maps, but power is then limited to what that map allows. PURE strongly recommends a custom tune to reach the full power potential and protect the engine. This part is for off-road and competition use only and is not legal for street use in California or other states with similar emissions rules.
