Overview

The Remus valved axle-back exhaust (part 956517 1500) replaces the rear silencer on the Mk7.5 Volkswagen Golf R. In the US that is the 2018-2019 Golf R. If you are shopping for a mk7.5 golf r exhaust that keeps the factory exhaust valves working, this is the Remus rear section built for it. Remus is an Austrian exhaust maker that designs and hand-builds each system for a specific vehicle.

What It Does

The axle-back swaps out the factory rear silencer, the section that shapes most of what you hear from behind the wheel. Everything ahead of it stays stock. Two valves are built into the Remus silencer, and the car's own valve actuator and onboard electronics still control them, so the drive modes keep their quieter and louder settings. Remus steps the pipe up from the factory 65/70 mm to 76 mm.

Fitment Notes

Fits the Mk7.5 (facelift) Golf R hatchback, sold in the US as the 2018-2019 Golf R.
Remus lists this part for the European Golf R facelift (2.0 TSI, 228 kW). The US car uses the same Mk7.5 body and valved rear exhaust layout.
Does not fit the pre-facelift 2015-2017 US Golf R or the Mk8 Golf R.
A Remus tail pipe set is required to finish the installation.
Professional installation is recommended.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.
