Remus F87 M2 Cat-Back Exhaust w/ Valves | 2016-2018 N55

The Remus Cat-Back Sport Exhaust 088016 1500 is a valved F87 M2 exhaust that replaces the factory rear silencer on the 2016-2018 BMW M2 Coupe with the N55 engine. Two Remus sport silencers with built-in valves take the place of the stock muffler, giving the turbocharged straight-six a sportier, more sonorous voice while the valves still let the car run quieter when the factory valve control closes them.

What This BMW M2 Exhaust Does

The stock M2 exhaust leaves the mid-section through a single 80 mm pipe. The Remus system splits the flow into two 65 mm pipes, one to each silencer. Remus measured a gain of 8.7 hp and 11.8 Nm (8.7 lb-ft) on the N55 with this system, and the system weighs 1.1 kg (2.4 lb) less than the factory exhaust. The valves stay connected to the car: Remus supplies an additional genuine BMW valve actuator and a Y-cable, which connect both valves to the car's onboard electronics so they keep working with the factory valve control. That makes it a true valved sport exhaust system for the N55 M2, not a straight-through pipe.

Materials and Construction

Remus builds the system from T304 stainless steel, shot-blasted to relieve stresses from production, and uses thinner but equally strong sidewalls to save weight. It is hand-built in Europe at the Remus plant in Bärnbach, Austria. The system bolts to the factory flange and hangs on the original rubber mounts, so no cutting is needed. In Europe it carries EC type approval, and it is covered by Remus's 24-month warranty.

Required Parts

The silencers come without tailpipes, and a Remus quad tailpipe set is needed to finish the install.
