The Urban Automotive front splitter fits under the front bumper of the Mk8 Volkswagen Golf R. Urban calls it the lower front bumper apron: a carbon fiber blade that runs the width of the bumper and gives the hot hatch a deeper, more purposeful nose.

Urban took the sports look it first developed for the Audi RS6 and carried it over to the Golf R for its first hot hatch kit. The splitter is designed and made in-house in the UK in visual carbon fiber, supplied in a lacquered gloss finish, and is also part of Urban's complete Golf R aero kit.

Installation

Urban recommends professional installation. The splitter is test-fitted to the underside of the bumper with a helper to check that both ends sit flush, then fixed to the bumper's lower edge. Take care when drilling any fixing holes not to break through the visible top surface of the bumper, and allow any adhesive to cure fully before driving. Check ground clearance on steep driveways once it is fitted.

Fitment Notes

Fits the Mk8 Volkswagen Golf R hatchback, US model years 2022-2024. It is not listed for the Golf GTI, the facelifted 2025-on Golf R or the Golf R wagon, which is not sold in the US.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
