VRSF N54 3" Cast Stainless Steel Downpipe Upgrade 335i, 135i, 1M | 2007-2013

The VRSF 3-inch downpipes are the most popular way to wake up an N54. They replace both factory downpipes and their converters on the E90, E92 and E93 335i, the 335is, the E82 and E88 135i and the 1M. Each pipe has a cast stainless bell mouth, and you can choose a catless race pipe, a high-flow catted pipe or a Cerakote-coated race pipe.

What It Does

Removing the restrictive factory converters cuts back pressure right behind the twin turbos, so they spool faster and the car pulls harder everywhere. VRSF measures 20 to 25 hp and 25 to 30 lb-ft at the wheels with a tune, and the exhaust note becomes much more aggressive. The catted version keeps high-flow converters for drivers who want less smell and sound.

Materials and Construction

A CAD/CAM-designed cast bell mouth gives a seamless transition from the turbo flange into the pipe. The pipes are hand made from mandrel bent 3-inch 304 stainless steel and TIG welded with smooth radius bends. The Cerakote option is rated to 1,800 F and keeps more heat inside the pipe. Gaskets and grade 12 hardware are included.

Required Parts

• An engine tune is needed to run either version without fault codes.
• New turbo gaskets and V-band clamps are not required, but VRSF recommends them if yours have more than 50,000-60,000 miles. Both are add-ons above.
