VRSF N55 Downpipe F10 535i, 640i, 740i, X5, X6 | 2011-2019

The VRSF N55 race downpipe replaces the factory downpipe and converter on the larger BMWs with the single-turbo 3.0-liter six: the F10 and F11 535i, the 535i Gran Turismo, the 640i in all body styles, the 740i and 740Li, and the X5 and X6 35i. It comes in a 3.5-inch version for pneumatic-wastegate turbos and a 4-inch version for electronic-wastegate turbos.

What It Does

Removing the restrictive converter right behind the turbo cuts back pressure, so the turbo spools sooner and the engine pulls harder. VRSF measures 25 to 30 hp with a tune, and the exhaust note becomes deeper under load.

Which Version Do I Need?

BMW used two N55 turbo designs. Earlier cars, generally 2011-2014, have a pneumatic wastegate (PWG) and take the 3.5-inch downpipe. Later cars, generally 2015 on, have an electronic wastegate (EWG) and take the 4-inch version. E70 and E71 models use the 3.5-inch PWG pipe, and F15 and F16 models use the 4-inch EWG pipe. To guarantee fitment, VRSF asks for a photo of your wastegate, and we ask for the last 7 of your VIN at checkout.

Materials and Construction

The downpipe is handcrafted and TIG welded from 304 stainless steel with smooth radius bends and a CNC-machined 304 stainless flange. It is a direct bolt-on.
