VRSF N55 Downpipe for F30 335i, 435i, M235i, M2 | 2012-2018

The VRSF N55 downpipe replaces the factory downpipe and its restrictive catalytic converter on F-chassis BMWs with the single-turbo 3.0-liter six. It fits the F30 335i, the 435i in every body style, the M235i and the N55 M2. Pick the 3.5-inch version for early cars or the 4-inch version for later ones, then choose a catless race pipe or a 200-cell high-flow catted pipe.

What It Does

The factory downpipe holds a dense converter right behind the turbo, where back pressure costs the most. Replacing it lets the turbo spool sooner and hold boost more easily, and the exhaust note gets deeper and sharper. VRSF measures 20 to 25 hp with a tune. The catted version keeps a 200-cell high-flow converter for drivers who want less smell and a more moderate sound.

Which Size Do I Need?

BMW changed the turbo outlet in mid-2013. Cars built up to July 2013 use the 3.5-inch downpipe. Cars built from August 2013 on, including every 435i, M235i and M2, use the 4-inch version. The turbo-to-downpipe connection on your car is the easiest way to confirm.

Materials and Construction

Each downpipe is hand crafted and TIG welded from 304 stainless steel with smooth radius bends, and the flanges are CNC machined from 304 stainless. The optional Cerakote high-temperature ceramic coating is rated to 1,800 F and keeps more heat inside the pipe, which helps lower engine bay, intake and oil temperatures.

Required Parts

• Race downpipes remove the catalytic converters and are sold for off-road and competition use only. A tune is needed to run them without fault codes.
