Active Autowerke F-150 3.5L EcoBoost AFlow Downpipes

The Active Autowerke catted downpipes replace the restrictive factory downpipes on the second-generation 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 in the 2017-2020 Ford F-150. Each side carries a 5 in Active Autowerke AFlow super high-flow catalytic converter, so the truck keeps a cat on both banks while the turbos get a much freer path out.

It is a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory parts and works with the stock cat-back or an aftermarket one, on both 2WD and 4WD trucks.

What It Does

Turbochargers run on exhaust energy, so anything that slows the gas down after the turbine slows spool. Larger mandrel-bent tubing and a high-flow cat cut back pressure, which helps the twin turbos build boost sooner and sharpens throttle response. Active Autowerke says the gains grow with a tune and supporting mods, and the truck picks up a deeper, more aggressive turbo note without excessive drone. Whether the truck tows during the week or sees a drag strip on the weekend, the downpipes are built to take the heat.

Materials and Construction

TIG-welded 304 stainless steel throughout, with 3 in mandrel-bent tubing for smooth flow. The converter uses a 400 cpsi substrate that is furnace brazed to the mantle for durability, and Active Autowerke rates this cat for engines up to 950 hp.
