Overview

Active Autowerke feels the G87 M2 performs brilliantly but sounds too muffled for an M car. This EL bundle is its fix: the G87 valved rear axle-back and the Gen 2 Signature equal length mid pipe with straight pipes, bought together for less than the two separately.

What It Does

Active Autowerke says most of the change in sound comes from the mid pipe, while the rear section on its own is subtler. The equal length mid pipe corrects the factory crossover, where one side runs longer than the other, so the pulses arrive evenly for a smoother high-rpm note. The rear axle-back lifts the volume over stock while keeping the BMW valve modes.

Materials and Construction

Both parts are 304 stainless steel. The mid pipe fits with factory-style flanges and clamps, needs only two cuts in the stock pipe, and includes the Active Autowerke G87 brace. The rear section is the Active Autowerke G87 valved axle-back. It reuses the BMW valve actuators, so the stock valve control is kept, and each one is test-fitted on Active Autowerke's in-house G87 fixture. Pick from four tip finishes: brushed stainless, matte black, carbon fiber, or carbon fiber over black.

Straight or resonated?
Straight pipes give the most volume. The resonated bundle removes rasp and drone with little loss of volume.

Do the stock valves still work?
Yes. The rear exhaust reuses the BMW valve actuators.

Does the tip finish change the price?
Yes. Carbon fiber and carbon over black tips cost more than brushed or matte black. The price updates when you pick a finish.

Shipping & returns

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
