AMS Race Downpipes | 2009-2024 Nissan GT-R R35 Cast Stainless

The AMS Performance R35 GT-R Race Downpipes (part number ALP.07.05.0001-1) replace the factory downpipes and catalytic converters on the 2009-2024 Nissan GT-R with a free-flowing cast stainless design. Removing the factory restriction lets the turbos spool sooner and lets exhaust gas leave the engine faster, which shows up as more power across the rev range and sharper throttle response.

Many downpipes are fabricated from pie-cut sections with lots of welds, and those seams are a common place for cracks in a high-heat turbo application. AMS instead uses cast 304 stainless inlet and outlet sections, which removes those weak points and allows smoother internal transitions. The engineering team designed the profiles in SolidWorks to keep exhaust velocity high, and the 90mm (3.5") primary section avoids the backpressure of smaller 76mm pipes.

The center section is 304 stainless with a .065" wall, every joint is TIG welded, and thick half-inch flanges stay flat through heat cycles to keep the seal tight. The pipes use factory-style mounting points, so they fit like OEM parts with no clearance issues and bolt to the stock midpipe or most aftermarket systems. The exhaust note gets deeper at full throttle but stays calm at idle and cruise.
