Overview

The AMS Performance Alpha R35 GT-R Front Mount Intercooler (part number ALP.07.09.0007-1) is the race-proven intercooler from AMS's Alpha 9 GT-R package, with numerous 9-second time slips behind it. It is most effective on GT-Rs making up to about 1,000 horsepower. This version comes with the coupler kit for cars that already run AMS intercooler piping.

Compared with the factory pair of intercoolers, the one-piece Alpha core has more than 75% more internal flow area. The cast A356-T6 aluminum end tanks were designed in SolidWorks for smooth flow, beat the flow of sheet-metal tanks, and include mounting points in the factory locations, so the intercooler installs without cutting or trimming.

Molded silicone couplers fit the 3" inlet and outlet ports precisely. Each core is hand TIG welded in a jig and pressure tested to 50 psi before it ships, and the AMS logo sits proudly in the front grille opening.

FAQ

Which coupler kit do I need?
Choose this version if your car has AMS intercooler piping. If you still run the factory piping, choose the stock-piping version.

How much power can it support?
AMS recommends it for GT-Rs making up to about 1,000 horsepower. Above that, look at the AMS Race or Race X intercoolers.

Does the bumper need trimming?
No. It mounts in the factory locations without cutting.
